How to apply formatting to entire reference or just partDTP Tools Help > Plug-Ins for InDesign/InCopy > Cross-References > Cross-Reference Formats > Inserting format element > Character Overrides Element > How to apply formatting to entire reference or just part If we want the format definition from the "Filter Text by Character style:" on this page to use the standard character style Cross-Reference, we could set it to both elements separately like this: < paratext cstyle="Cross-Reference" precedingpstyle="Heading"/> < paratext cstyle="Cross-Reference" precedingpstyle="Sub-head"/> The reference pointing to the current chapter and using this definition would look like this: Cross-Reference Format Character overrides . An easier solution (which will also take care of the missing underline between elements) is to apply the formatting to both elements: < span cstyle="Cross-Reference"> < paratext precedingpstyle="Heading"/> < paratext precedingpstyle="Sub-head"/> < span/> When you need different character attributes for each part of the reference as used here: Cross-References panel -> Source Markers view, select < paratext cstyle="Cross-Reference" precedingpstyle="Head - sidehead"/>< span format="font-family: Wingdings">à< /span> < paratext cstyle="Cross-Reference"/> |
