Activation of InDesign plug-ins Windows

The newer versions of our plug-ins (versions released after CS3):

menu: Help -> DTP Tools -> Activate

Fill in the serial number of a product you want to activate. The activate button will remain greyed out if the serial number is not typed in the correct format (prefix or lenght are not recognized).
Make sure that you are connected to the internet and logged in as an administrator to your computer while activating.

Known Errors and solutions:

1. error message, Serial number is unrecognized, Serial number unknown: If you have just purchased your license, the serial number might not yet be recognized by all activation servers. It might take up to 20 minutes before your license information propagates to all servers. If you receive this error message after this period from purchase, there might be security settings of your Proxy server which prevent the activation to complete successfully. Please check "Manual activation" checkbox and choose "Activate using web browser on this computer". You will be brought to a web-page with your installation ID already pre-filled, you only need to submit it in order to receive the activation key. The key is then copy pasted back into the activation dialog.
2. error messages eSellerate engine not found, eSellerate engine is corrupted: please download original installer of the desired product from our website and install the plug-in by running the installation program. Please make sure that you're logged in as an administrator to your computer.
3. error plug-in does not remember it is already activated: Start InDesign once logged in with enough user rights to install and access data. If necessary, activate for one last time. After that the license data should be stored correctly.
4. error message "Activation limit exceeded": Our products come with a standard activation limit of 2 activations per license, which will cover for activation of plug-in on your workstation and laptop or home computer. There is also 1 permitted reinstallation, in case either of the installations is lost. If you need to reinstall or activate more, please send us e-mail with your order number, or serial number you need the activation increase for. We are also checking the Activation failure logs frequently and increase the activations automatically.

Pre CS3 versions 

In the older versions of our plug-ins (History up to 2.1, Text Count up to 1.1, X-ray 1.0, Layer Groups 1.0 and Page Control 1.0) you will find the Activate item in the corresponding panel menu. Only the product from whose menu the dialog was opened can be activated in this dialog.

If a newer version is available, please upgrade to it, to make sure you get the pest performance for the money you've paid for the license.  As of 7/2007 the upgrade is free in all cases.

Manual activation of plug-ins released before 10/2006 . Choose activate in your product menu the same way as when you were trying to activate previously, but this time with the computer not connected to the internet. Fill in the serial number and hit activate. Activation dialog will warn you, that you need to be connected to the internet. Ignore this and click continue, until you are offered to Activate manually using different computer. Than you will obtain your installation ID, which you will enter either on this website or you can simply reconnect your computer to the internet and follow the link in the dialog. After entering the installation ID you will obtain Activation key, which will activate your DTP Tools product.
